Commercial Product Lead – Utrecht

Utrecht 40 uur #8769

Do you want to have a real impact on millions of learners across Europe and their teachers? Do you want to operate on a strategic level? Then I am looking for you, a Commercial Product Lead!

De organisatie

Our client, Infinitas Technology is a dynamic educational resources company and one of Europe’s leading providers of innovative and engaging products and services for teaching and learning. This company is passionate about transforming the way people learn, and because of that, they are currently shifting towards a more end user-centered product development approach that leverages all the strengths and history of our companies, while being focused on delivering real value to the many people using our products. Their aim is to deliver flexible, market-leading solutions that support new approaches to learning for the 21st century.

De functie

Our client, Infinitas Technology, is looking for a Senior Product Manager capable of leading a collection of product teams in an area of the business, guiding a more complex multi-themed roadmap with many components towards a larger business outcome. You would mentor and directly manage other product managers in your assigned area.

This role would specifically involve leading our product work in their “Commercial” segment. It has responsibility for its commercial technology, including its user-facing e-commerce sites, where schools and individuals can buy their products, as well as its back-end and marketing systems. You would be responsible for all the systems they use to engage users who are customers and to improve their relationship with them outside of their learning platforms.

Infinitas is most interested in candidates who have an understanding of commercial areas of businesses and have been creative collaborators with colleagues in marketing and commercial departments.

You would also be working with senior stakeholders in at least three different countries. As part of the role they expect you would:

  • Work together with stakeholders to create the necessary vision, high-level roadmap, and business cases (where necessary) to ensure long-term strategic objectives are achieved;
  • Work with the product team to break the roadmap areas down into smaller pieces that can then be prioritized and delivered on, recognizing that your job is to provide both the vision and boundaries to work in, but the whole team should take ownership around how they deliver against these;
  • Keep track of product performance, benchmarks, and success metrics to ensure we are continuing to invest in the right things;
  • Report on progress to senior management, and act as a strategic sparring partner for management;
  • Perform analysis on new and existing product features to ensure we are making decisions supported by the available facts, with the support of business and data analysts;
  • Spend time every week talking with end-users, validating hypotheses around new feature development, confirming that new or existing features deliver value, and ensuring that the product team feel really connected to the value they deliver to the end-user;
  • Their teams are a mix of local and remote people, as they try to bring on board the best Product, UX, and Engineering people they can, regardless of where they are located. You have experience working in this type of environment and are comfortable using tools (such as or similar to ProductBoard, Slack, Figma, Azure DevOps, and the like) to facilitate teams to get the best out of their time.

Het profiel

While they don’t like creating a detailed set of criteria that then filters out some potentially great candidates, it is important you have an idea of the type of thing they will be looking for after you apply – so please take these as a guide, but if you are uncertain please don’t let it stop you applying!

  • 5+ years experience in product management;
  • Experience with areas of commercial product management such as systems for e-commerce and marketing an advantage;
  • Experience in analyzing end-user feedback, user research, and performance data to guide product feature development;
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally among multiple internal and external stakeholders, explaining complex systems or concepts in appropriate terminology for stakeholders;
  • Ability to veer effortlessly between strategic, tactical, and operational levels;
  • Knowledge of the agile software development process and experience using tools to manage and prioritize work for a software team;
  • A keen listener and collaborator, but who is also resilient and holds their ground to deliver what they think is right;
  • Work with the product team to break the roadmap areas down into smaller pieces that can then be prioritized and delivered on, recognizing that your job is to provide both the vision and boundaries to work in, but the whole team should take ownership around how they deliver against these;
  • Keep track of product performance, benchmarks, and success metrics to ensure we are continuing to invest in the right things;
  • Report on progress to middle and senior management, and act as a strategic sparring partner for management;
  • The business language across Infinitas Learning is English, so a strong proficiency is a must.
