Release Train Engineer Core Digital Services – ‘s-Hertogenbosch

Our core digital services domain, responsible within the Sanoma Learning Technology Department for the delivery of the technical and functional components for our strategic applications, is looking for a Release Train Engineer (RTE). As RTE you are on the one hand responsible for facilitating the Release Train events and processes and on the other hand you are managing and coaching the 5 DevOps teams within the common domain (roughly 45 FTE in total). As our organization is in transition we want someone who is able to guide us through our transformation to SAFe and someone who has proven experiences in implementing new ways of working in complex (international) IT environments.

Function

Organize, coach and facilitate the teams in delivering maximum value per train with a sharp focus on quality for our digital learning products.
Create an environment where the teams can further excel in their agile way of working and create an environment where the teams are continuous improving their predictability for delivery.
Organize and facilitate the Program Increment sessions and other SAFe ceremonies.
Responsible for the delivery of the Program Objectives by facilitating the teams, managing the risks and coordinating the dependencies with other trains.
Partner and collaborate closely with stakeholders involved to the trains, like in example: business representatives, architects, delivery teams, management and suppliers.
Line management for the members of the DevOps teams (roughly 45 in total)

You will mainly work at Sanoma Learning’s headquarters in ‘s-Hertogenbosch but you are willing to travel to the operating companies when required. You directly report to the Digital Lead Common.

Requirements

Servant leader and coach with outstanding organizational and social skills.
5+ years of experience managing multiple DevOps teams in an Agile and/or SAFe environment.
Energetic personality, excellent collaborator and highly organization sensitive.
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
10+ years of experience in complex (international) IT organizations and processes.
Proven experiences in project-, change- and supplier-management
Good verbal and writing skills in Dutch and English
